The neta eventually ends up the winner and our suffering

The Supreme Court’s advice remains to be conveniently implemented. It also appears convenient for all the political parties in Parliament to cleverly ensure that people facing serious criminal cases do enter either House. Since there is no work progress to showcase, the freedom of speech is totally misused even at the peril of attracting the archaic sedition law.The internal check and balance system which should be enforced to restrain unbridled exuberance in every party is non-existent.

Those were truly enjoyable times. The hate speeches we see and hear today, across party lines, with clear and strategic intent to divide and polarise the voter and without any semblance of national responsibility, were completely non-existent at that timeVote-gathering along religious or ethnic lines was attempted, and was done, but it was subtle. Today, sadly, the humour element is like a ghost. Then, to add salt to the festering wound, the voter is told that he is an ‘idiot’ if he does not vote. With no visible work being done, the gladiator on stage, in excited frenzy, whips up the same classic rhetoric which he cleverly assumes will divert the attention of the public. The SC is informed by the Centre that its direction on electoral reforms including the China Woodworking Machinery Equipment Suppliers one on having a permanent, independent and largely impartial machinery to monitor lawmakers is still going to be established. It’s like being between a rock and a hard place for the public across the spectrum. So, the one victorious neta who grabbed the eyeballs eventually scrapes through and splurges on the victory rally. Sadly, the means to the goal to be achieved do not matter at all.

And then you have the self-styled religious leaders also begging for votes on communal lines. Instead of sticking to the party manifesto, the little time on stage is used to spew venom and filth which puts even the dirtiest cheap tricks department to shame. The lack of legal status for the model code of conduct leaves enough room for ambiguity. With enough skeletons in each other’s closet, the purpose to throw the voter off-balance is achieved with clinical precision. Religion as truly said becomes the opium of the masses.(The writer is an advocate of the Bombay high court). Even at that moment it is not spared the allegations of bias and prejudice. But then our ancient fallback on rationalism reminds us, that this is destiny and life drudges on.When there is a huge number of politicians who contest polls despite having a large number of pending cases, the flavour of each unique criminal neta is going to showcase itself in the hate speeches also. So, why then is this the norm of the day?The answer is simple. When I reflect on my teenage years and my Xavierite background, which even now remains, completely غير مجاز مي باشدmopolitan, I remember election time and netas giving speeches full of humour and healthy sarcasm.Grabbing publicity at any غير مجاز مي باشدt, and garnering eyeballs at the local and national level, seems to be, sadly, the mantra of the day. The result is there is a rush of people towards the several entertainment platforms to entertain themselves only in order to avoid suffering the same rhetoric. All norms of so-called party discipline are conveniently ignored and the only focus in Arjuna-like fashion is to grab the voter’s attention and humiliate the opponent. The neta eventually ends up the winner and our suffering continues as, out of sheer exhaustion, the public eventually gives up and the politician smiles to himself and the advisers rejoice, as they presume that the strategy worked. The road map of illusory solutions, leave alone any effort to deal with these issues, seem to have lapsed into convenient oblivion. The Election Commission occasionally wakes up but often too late.Healthy debates dealing with burning issues can take a long hike — which neta is interested in discussing problems pertaining to the dangerously low water table across India, pollution, adulteration of all types, population explosion etc.The work progress chart in the discourse is replaced by shameless mud-slinging

The top court bench then said the high court should modify

It had directed the trial courts to lodge an FIR if the revenue or surety papers or the Aadhaar card was found to be forged."We have been apprised by the counsel appearing for the Chhattisgarh Bar Council that it has filed an application for modification of the directions issued by the High Court. The high court took the letter of the district judge on record and instituted another case to deal with the situation.", the bench said..It had said the menace of submission of sureties by fictitious persons to secure bail of an accused needed to be controlled and regulated by all trial courts of state and the trial court should necessarily obtain copy of the Aadhaar Card of the accused as well as of the surety.Advocate Bhatia, who was also present, said since the state was affected by Left-wing extremism, the policemen were taking the help of CRPF to reach remote areas to verify the credentials of the accused who get bail and his sureties.Further hearing of the high court is scheduled on January 29.Advocate Pratap sought a stay on the order of high court saying it was creating lot of difficulties for the people. It had even warned judicial officers of disciplinary action if no certification is found on the order sheets of the cases, besides directing revenue officers and the Station House Officers to cooperate with the trial court in the course of verification of the records.

The top court bench then said the high court should modify its order within ten days and disposed of the petition.Advocate Manohar Pratap, appearing for Advocate Bhatia, said the high court order had resulted in the breach of fundamental rights and liberty of citizens, which would be handheld in the domain of the executive as there was no independent machinery to verify the details of Aadhaar.New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Chhattisgarh High Court to modify in ten days its order directing all trial courts in the state to mandatorily accept copies of Aadhaar card for releasing an accused on bail. The high court had directed all trial courts to verify the genuineness of the Aadhaar card of the accused and the surety along with the revenue papers within one week of submission. The high court had issued the guidelines while dealing with a case in which an advocates clerk had stood surety for an accused to secure bail and fudged the revenue record of another individual by pasting his own picture.

It said, "we would request the high court to deal with the application as per law within a span of ten days hence".On Thursday, a bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud disposed of a petition filed by advocate Peeyush Bhatia challenging the high court order and terming it as against the orders of the top court and the fundamental rights of citizens.Advocate Rajesh Pandey, appearing for state Bar Council, said the high court has agreed to modify its January 5 order and the matter should be referred back to it.

With the situation aggravating, a Bilaspur district judge wrote a letter to the High Court on January 10 apprising it about the problems being faced due to the January 5 order, including non-grant of bail to those accused even of petty offences. He said that due to practical problems faced by the authorities in verifying and scrutinising revenue records, the accused person has to remain in jail as his release warrant is not issued..The January 5 order of the high court had created much hue and cry in the Naxal-affected state, as a large number of accused continued to languish in jails despite getting bail, but not getting release China Woodworking Drilling Equipment factory warrants due to delay in verification of Aadhaar and revenue records or surety papers by the police

Harvard University and Boston Childrens Hospital wound

It moves thanks to artificial muscles, a concept developed in the polio era thats now being used in robotics. The big test: The sleeve restored normal blood flow in six pigs that had been put into heart failure, Walshs team reported in the journal Science Translational Medicine. "They really worked on developing a device that can mimic the contraction of the weakened heart muscle and augment it so there is improved heart function without the theoretical clot risk. Christopher OConnor, chief executive of the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute in suburban Washington, who wasnt involved with the sleeves development. The experiments were short, lasting only a few hours, and more research to test how long animals could live safely with the implanted sleeve is crucial before it ever could be studied in people, Walsh cautioned.Washington: Scientists are developing a robotic sleeve that can encase a flabby diseased heart and gently squeeze to keep it pumping. But this "soft robotic" device mimics the natural movements of a beating heart, a strategy for next-generation treatments of deadly heart failure. Frank Pigula, a cardiac surgeon who, while at Boston Childrens, took the idea to Harvard colleagues developing soft robotics. More than 5 million Americans, China woodworking machinery and 41 million people worldwide, suffer heart failure, a number growing as the population ages.

These VADs, ventricular assist devices, prolong life, but running blood through the machinery can leave patients at risk of blood clots, strokes and bleeding."You can customize the function of the assist device to meet the individual needs of that heart," said Dr. The device can be tailored to compress different sections of the heart. Its a dramatically different approach than todays therapies and, if it eventually is proven in people, it might offer a new alternative to heart transplants or maybe even aid in recovery."Im quite impressed with where this research is going," said Dr.Unlike those prior attempts, the new sleeve is "smart, its robotic," said OConnor, who edits an American College of Cardiology heart failure journal.

That shouldnt be a risk with the robotic sleeve. A heart left damaged by a heart attack, high blood pressure or other conditions becomes progressively weaker and unable to pump properly. Theyre powered by pressurized air that would have to be carried in a pump in a backpack or fanny pack much like the batteries that power todays VADs.For severe cases, the only options are a scarce heart transplant or battery-powered mechanical pumps that are implanted into the chest to take over the job of pumping blood. Unlike with traditional rigid medical devices, the soft robotics approach allowed design of a sleeve that could fit snugly over a hearts irregular surfaces. Hed also like to study if physically moving damaged heart muscle - essentially exercising it - might spur it to heal and require less assistance from the sleeve over time.".And importantly, as the sleeve relaxes, it helps the damaged heart better expand and refill with blood ready to be pumped out with the next heartbeat, said Pigula, who is now with the University of Louisville.Researchers have previously tried "socks" and other ways to encase or compress the heart with little success. The researchers programmed the robotic sleeve to move in the same pattern as the weakened heart muscle it surrounds while strengthening and optimizing each heartbeat. The key: A team from Harvard University and Boston Childrens Hospital wound artificial muscles into the thin silicone sleeve, so that it alternately compresses, twists and relaxes in synchrony with the heart tissue underneath. So far its been tested only in animals, improving blood flow in pigs."The nice thing about this is it can go on the outside of the heart, so it doesnt have to contact blood at all," said Harvard associate engineering professor Conor Walsh, senior author of the research published Wednesday
